How Can I Be Part of the AFC Mission?

Volunteer pilot Darryl, pictured above, has been flying with Angel Flight Central for years, but flying missions isn't the only way he gives back.

When he's not in the cockpit, you'll often find him representing Angel Flight Central at community events, serving on our board, talking with people about our mission, answering questions, and helping more families learn that free flights to care are available.

Darryl is one of many volunteers who reminds us that supporting Angel Flight Central looks different for everyone.

We are incredibly grateful for the more than 350 volunteer pilots who donate their time, aircraft, and fuel to keep our mission in the air. But we also know that not everyone has a pilot's license or the ability to become a volunteer pilot.

So how can you help?

The best gift you can give Angel Flight Central is helping more people learn who we are!

Angel Flight Central serves a 10-state region with a small staff of five people. As much as we'd love to, we can't be everywhere at once. That's why our volunteers, supporters, passengers, and community members play such an important role in helping us spread the word.

Maybe your local hospital has a resource fair. Maybe your church is hosting a community event. Maybe you know a medical office, social worker, veteran organization, or nonprofit that serves people who could benefit from free transportation.

If you're willing to share information about Angel Flight Central, we will send brochures, flyers, rack cards, or other materials for you to hand out or display. If you have another creative idea for introducing people to our mission, we'd love to hear that too!

Another easy way to support our mission is by following us on social media, sharing our posts, and telling friends and family about the work our volunteer pilots do every day. You never know when someone in your network may need our services or know someone who does.

Of course, financial support is another way you can make a lasting impact.

While our volunteer pilots donate the flights themselves, it takes a dedicated team behind the scenes to coordinate every mission. Our staff works with patients, families, healthcare providers, and pilots across our entire region to make each flight possible.

Your generosity keeps those flights moving.

Every $1 donated creates $5.40 worth of free flight services, thanks to the incredible volunteer pilots who donate their time, aircraft, and fuel to help passengers reach the medical care they need.

Every gift helps us continue connecting hope with the people who need it most.

Fundraising is another great way to support AFC!

Through August, customers at participating Nothing Bundt Cakes locations across the Kansas City metro can round up their purchase at checkout to support Angel Flight Central. It's a small gesture that makes a big difference and an easy way to help keep hope in the air while picking up your favorite bundt cake.

If you'd like to take it a step further, we'd love to help you host a fundraiser of your own. Whether it's a give-back night at a local business, a birthday fundraiser, a community event, or another creative idea, every effort helps keep hope in the air for the families we serve.
