High Flyers

STL HighFlyers.htm

Greetings Angel Flight Volunteer:

I would like to take this opportunity to inform all of our volunteers of a historical event that has occurred in our Wing, and that this event has occurred only one other time in all of Angel Flight Central.

Congratulations to our very own Bob Zeitinger who flew his 100th mission on September 14, 2005. Bob is the first pilot in our Wing, and only the 2nd pilot in our region to reach this milestone. What makes this even better is that Bob’s 100th mission was a HSEATS mission. Bob linked up to bring a very tired firefighter from Louisiana back to St.Louis.

In addition to volunteering as a pilot, Bob and his wife Jacquelyn are responsible for developing and implementing the Earth Angel ground transportation system for passengers arriving here in St.Louis. Thank you Bob and Jacquelyn for your continued work and support. I have attached a few pictures of Bob’s 100th mission for your viewing.

In other news… don’t forget the Plane Pull on Oct 1st. If you, your family, or friends would like to participate please e-mail or call me.

We will soon be adding a new page to our Wing web site, and will call it “High Flyers”. It will recognize pilots in the Wing who are frequent flyers, and also to show pilots with 50 or more missions. Our web site will also be changed to make the pages more visible and easily identifiable, currently they are listed in very small print at the bottom of our web site.

And a special welcome to several new pilots who have just recently joined our Wing.

Sincerely,

Salvatore Slusher
Volunteer Wing Leader

Congratulations to Herman Hood for becoming the third pilot in all of Angel Flight Central to fly 100 missions. Herman is now the 2nd pilot in our Wing with over 100 missions, and this makes the Spirit of St.Louis Wing with the most pilots over 100 missions. As soon as I can catch up with Herman, I will post a new picture of him. Herman has been our Pilot Of The Year the past two years. Thanks for all your time and resources you have given to Angel Flight to help those in need !

Congratulations again to Herman Hood for being our Wing Pilot of the Year for 2005. This is the 2nd year in a row that Herman has received this award. Herman flew over 40 missions last year and in two years has flown over 75 missions. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication.

The Spirit of St.Louis Wing would like to thank Herman Hood for his dedication to being an Angel Flight pilot. Herman was awarded our Wing Pilot of the Year award for 2004, and he recently completed his 60th mission in September of 2005. Herman has only been with Angel Flight for a short time, but since he joined he has flown quite often. He is based in Marion, Illinois, and you can see his brand new Cirrus on our "volunteer" page of this web site. Congratulations and thank you Herman for being a part of our Wing, and Angel Flight Central.
